Kiyoshi OKADA, Executive Vice President for Planning, Human Resources and Public Relations

Kiyoshi Okada has been executive vice president for planning, human resources and public relations at Tokyo Tech since April 2016. He served as executive vice president for planning and personnel from 2012 to March 2016, and for planning and management from 2011 to 2012 at the Institute.

Okada earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in engineering from Tokyo Tech in 1971, 1973, and 1976 respectively. After a year as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science fellow, Okada became assistant professor at Tokyo Tech's Research Laboratory of Engineering Materials. In 1978, he moved to the Department of Inorganic Materials in the School of Engineering, where he was promoted to associate professor in 1986, and then professor in 1992.

In 1999, Okada transferred to the Department of Metallurgy and Ceramics Science in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, where he served as professor for 10 years.

In 2009, he became professor and director at Tokyo Tech's Materials and Structures Laboratory.
