Message from president of the Tokyo Tech Alumni Association

Yoshio Ishida President, Tokyo Tech Alumni Association

Contributing to Tokyo Tech's excellence through the alumni association

We live in a time of great changes, where the world's economic and social structures are rapidly changing by the day, and we are faced with new and more complex challenges. The rapid evolution of information and communication technology in recent years, on top of the dramatic progress in science and technology in the 21st century, has made the world more globalized than ever before. In such a world, institutes need more than ever to become more internationally competitive and contribute to social change.
It must then be said that Tokyo Tech's bold reform initiatives in 2016 to transform its education and research could not have come at a better time. Its efforts to become one of the world's leading research universities include a strengthened commitment to develop talented individuals who can make a difference in a global society, fortified areas of specialized research, and a new framework for advancing innovative research disciplines that fit the times.

The alumni association, in support of Tokyo Tech, plans once again this year to continue to be involved with various activities and provide current students with support from our base at Tokyo Tech Front.

The 6th Homecoming Day will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Ookayama Campus. It will provide alumni members with the opportunity to visit their alma mater and reunite with friends. Please use this day to connect with the Tokyo Tech community and support the Institute's efforts to strive for excellence in education and research.
