Home Tutoring (Inquiries)

Tokyo Institute of Technology's Ookayama Campus and Suzukakedai Campus are introducing Tokyo Tech students as home tutors. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested.

Fees and other Conditions for Home Tutors

1.
Households will interview the selected student, and decide if the student is suitable. Regardless of the outcome, please contact the student directly and the Student Guidance Room in the Student Service Department and state your decision. If contacting the Student Guidance Room, please state your decision by telephone or send it by fax to the office to which the original application was sent.
2.
As a general principle, when terminating the home tutor contract, please notify the student directly 14 days prior to the termination taking effect.
3.
Fees are to be paid in cash directly to the student in accordance with the number of times taught per month.
4.
Transportation fees (the actual cost of transportation for the student to travel to and from the home in question) are to be paid separately. (The actual cost of train journeys is to be paid even in the case of students who travel by bicycle or motorbike, etc.) The starting point for calculating transportation fees is to be either the University or the student's actual address, depending on which is closer to the home in question.
5.
It is not necessary to provide meals.

[Remarks]

1.
The same fees apply for both undergraduate students and graduate students.
2.
Sum payable = (per-hour wage × hours of lesson + transportation fee) x number of lessons.
3.
In the event of more than one pupil being tutored during each lesson as stipulated by the contract, an additional cost of ¥1,400 for each additional pupil per lesson will be added to the above fees. The applicable base fee in this event will be the highest pupil classification.
