Educational Programs with Study Abroad Opportunities

Tokyo Tech offers educational programs with study abroad opportunities.

For Graduate Students

Leading Graduate Schools

Tokyo Tech has responded to the demands of industry, government, academia, and society by creating four highly competitive graduate academies within its graduate schools to cultivate future leaders in the global community. These four academies have been selected as Leading Programs in Doctoral Education by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Each academy integrates master's and doctoral programs to produce doctoral degree holders endowed with the qualities required to become global leaders: extensive and distinctive expertise, knowledge, sophistication, internationalism, and leadership.

For Undergraduate Students

Global Scientists and Engineers Course

Nine out of ten undergraduate students at Tokyo Tech go on graduate school. Tokyo Tech is therefore determined to equip its undergraduates with advanced abilities to ensure that their future graduate research and educational projects will satisfy international standards. The new Global Scientists and Engineers Course helps Tokyo Tech achieve this goal by developing professionals who will lead society all over the world, in developed and developing countries alike. The Global Scientists and Engineers Course consists of four programs: the Global Awareness Program, the English and Communication Program, the International Cooperation Practice Grounded in Science and Technology Program, and the Overseas Study or International Internship Program.

In addition to working on regular bachelor's degree studies, students enrolled in these four programs must meet strict curriculum requirements and assessments managed by our high-quality education assurance system. Students will qualify for course completion if they earn the credits required for the program, acquire English-language ability with a TOEIC score of at least 750 or a TOEFL score of at least iBT80, pass a portfolio assessment of the skills they have mastered, and pass an interview to evaluate their proficiency and competencies as scientists or engineers with a global perspective (all requirements must be satisfied).
