2nd Bioscience and Biotechnology International Symposium

This symposium series "the Bioscience and Biotechnology International Symposium" has started last year with the following two purposes:

1)

to catalyze networking among top scientists in different fields for accelerating bioscience discovery and biotechnology breakthrough at Tokyo Tech.

2)

to create an environment for young scientists (especially graduate students) in Tokyo Tech to experience interdisciplinary talks and discussions by international top scientists.

This year's title is "The Nucleic Acid World -Interfaces between Biology and Chemistry". No doubt, "nucleic acid" has been one of the major research fields since the dawn of bioscience and biotechnology. And nowadays, thanks to continuous development of new experimental equipments and their applications to many scientific topics, we can see new biological aspects and industrial outcomes of nucleic acids, which were never seen 10 years ago.This year, to watch the front line of the nucleic acid field, we invited 9 top scientists from different disciplines such as piRNA, epigenetic gene regulation, iPS cell, genome engineering, single cell genomic, nucleic acid medicine, DNA recombination etc.
