UK - Japan Symposium on Engineering Education - Past, Present and Future

Objective

Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) is hosting the UK-Japan Symposium on Engineering Education in commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Choshu Five's departure for the United Kingdom (UK), which marked the start of mutual development in engineering education between the UK and Japan. The UK has played a significant role in Japan's engineering education history, and it is our hope to maintain and nurture this partnership for the continued growth of both nations.

In this symposium, representatives from leading engineering universities in the UK and Japan will gather to discuss the current state of engineering education and to strengthen the UK-Japan partnership into the future. The symposium consists of three main sessions, during which participating universities will present on various engineering education topics, lectures by experts from industry and government, and an open discussion for participants to exchange views on the future of engineering education.

We look forward to your attendance at this commemorative symposium in support of bilateral ties and future development in engineering education between the UK and Japan.
