What is the foundation for research in the Graduate Major in Energy Science and Engineering? Nothing other than solid basic academic ability. In the Graduate Major in Energy Science and Engineering, we provide lectures on a wide range of fields such as physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering, which we have named the Energy Theory Lecture Group, through which students will acquire basic academic ability, and which will pave a solid path that will allow them to apply their abilities from a multidimensional perspective. This lecture group acts as the face of energy science and engineering, and provides an immediate stimulus for graduate students in their research and academic activities.
2
What should I do after honing my skills in the Energy Theory Lecture Group? Our answer to that question is to become a specialist. The Specialized Theory Lecture Group is provided for students to acquire deep knowledge and expertise. We believe that the skills to comprehensively grasp theory and deepen specialization will contribute to solving humanity's energy problems.

In energy research, it is important to not only acquire basic academic ability, but also to expand knowledge of real applications. Therefore, in the Graduate Major in Energy Science and Engineering, we strive for education that connects industry (companies) and academia (universities). For example, we invite researchers and managers from companies to give lectures, providing practical energy education oriented towards industry-academia collaboration. As a result, students get to see how basic theories learned in energy science and engineering are used practically.
4
The training of individuals to be successful on the global stage is very important. In the Graduate Major in Energy Science and Engineering, we encourage not only labs, but also students and young researchers to participate in overseas research activities and international conference presentations. By encouraging active international exchanges, we train gifted experts who are internationally valued.

The Graduate Major in Energy Science and Engineering is comprised of research labs from a variety of fields that span science and engineering — truly representing a fusion of the modern sciences. This diversity and wide range of backgrounds is essential for passing on modern energy theory. Students can consult expert teachers across schools on energy issues or when they have new ideas. In doing so, students can be assured that they are learning energy theory and applications that are not biased towards a specific field.
