2014 Fall Entrance Ceremony for Graduate Students

The Fall Entrance Ceremony for the Graduate Schools of Tokyo Institute of Technology was held on October 1, 2014 in Tokyo Tech Front. The enrollment for the fall term is 334 in total, with 173 in the master's program, 9 in the Professional Master's Program and 152 in the doctoral program. 232 students, almost 70% of all the new enrolled students are from 30 nations overseas.

At the ceremony, President Mishima delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of collaboration among Japanese and international students to exchange ideas and to understand the values of different cultures, cultivating internationality with wider and deeper views. He also introduced the edX consortium, which Tokyo Tech joined this October.

At the end of the ceremony, Ms. Sukhumarn Archasantisuk from Thailand delivered a speech as a representative of the new graduate students.
