Tokyo Tech's Precision and Intelligence Laboratory (P&I Lab) Open House 2015 was held on Friday, October 30. The event enjoyed roughly 120 visitors, mainly researchers and engineers affiliated with companies. The Office of Industry Liaison, Tokyo Tech Alumni Association, the Precision and Manufacturing Center, and the Semiconductor and MEMS Processing Center of the Technical Department of Tokyo Tech all played roles in making the event another successful one.
Presentations at Suzukake Hall began with opening remarks by P&I Lab Director, Professor Hidenori Shinno, which were followed by Professor Makoto Sato's lecture entitled "VR Environment and Haptic Interfaces" and Professor Haruo Houjoh's lecture entitled "Research on Fundamental Machine Elements in P&I Lab: Gears for Power Transmission." The presentations provided the audience with information on novel topics in technology and the research history in P&I Lab.
Warm comments and productive suggestions from the visitors provided the P&I Lab with fresh impetus to explore further research objectives and organize improved events in the future.
