Tokyo Institute of Technology (hereafter to be referred to as "Tokyo Tech") collects personal information on users of the official website of Tokyo Tech (starting with http://www.titech.ac.jp, hereafter to be referred to as "this site") to the extent necessary for the efficient operation of the services provided on this site. The collected information will be handled appropriately by the Center of the Public Information within the scope of the purposes of use in accordance with "Personal Information Security Rule"(available in Japanese).

2. Scope of Collection of Personal Information

1. Personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses is required when users send us comments or inquiries.
2. This site automatically collects domain names, IP addresses and session information. This site uses (information transmitted from the server to the user’s browser and stored on the user’s computer in order to identify users) and embedded JavaScript.

3. Purposes for Utilizing Personal Information

1. Collected Information based on 2.(1) is referred to management of Tokyo Tech, In addition, personal information can be shared in Tokyo Tech and used for responses.
   
2. Collected Information based on 2.(2) is used for analysis on administration and availability of this site. The analysis can be provided to third parties under contracts for private information security.
   

4. Restriction of Utilization and Provision

The use and provision of personal information are regulated by the purpose set out above 3. However, information may be provided to third parties in following cases; when a request of disclosure under the law is demanded, when illegal activity such as fraudulent and threats is conducted, and when a consent of a principal party is obtained, or otherwise.

5. Secure Management of Personal Information

Tokyo Tech takes necessary measures for the appropriate management to prevent any illegal access, loss, destruction falsification and leakage of collected Information.

6.Providing Information to Interested Parties

Tokyo Tech, in principle, does not provide personal information to any interested parties by a request through inquiry forms.

7. Scope of Application

This policy is applied only to this site. Other sites including one of departments are operated under different site policies. This policy is able to be revised in case of necessity.
