Graduate Research Students (Japanese/privately funded international students)

Application for Certificates for Graduate Research Students (Science and Engineering Fields)（PDF,Word）

Apply for a certificate from the Student Division in one of the following ways.

1.
In person
Directly visit the Student Division desk at the below address. When receiving the certificate, you need to present identification.
2.
By post
Send 1) a completed application form, 2) a copy of an identification card, etc., and 3) a stamped, self-addressed envelope (size: 23.5 cm x 12 cm) by postal mail to the below address.
3.
From overseas
Send 1) a completed application form, 2) a copy of an identification card, etc., and 3) sufficient international reply coupons (IRCs) by postal mail to the below address.

Note: If your current name is different from when you were at Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology) , please present identification showing the former name as well.

It normally takes five business days to issue a certificate after receiving an application, but it may take longer depending on circumstances (not including postal delivery time).

Graduate Research Students (MEXT Scholarship) / Intensive Japanese Language Course Students Certificate of Enrollment Period

Application for Certificates for Graduate Research Students (Science and Engineering Fields)（PDF,Word）

Apply to the Student Support Division in one of the following ways.

1.
Visit the office and apply.
2.
Download the form, fill it out and send it to the Student Support Division by post. Please also enclose sufficient postage stamps for the reply.
If you are applying from outside Japan, please enclose sufficient international reply coupons (IRCs).
3.
To request an electronic copy, send a completed form by email.
The Student Support Division will only send original copies if provided with sufficient postage stamps or IRCs. In addition, originals will be kept for a month after issuance, after which time you will need to reapply.

After receiving an application, it takes roughly five business days to issue the certificate and one week to deliver it by post.
