Tetsuo OKADA, Vice President for Risk and Compliance

Tetsuo Okada has been vice president for safety and compliance at Tokyo Tech since April 2018. He concurrently serves as professor at the School of Science.

Okada began his academic career in 1986 as assistant professor at Shizuoka University's Faculty of Liberal Arts, where he became associate professor three years later. In 1995, Okada joined Tokyo Tech's Graduate School of Science as associate professor. He was promoted to professor in 2000, and then served as dean of both the School of Science and Graduate School of Science from 2015 to 2016. After the two schools merged in April 2016, Okada continued to serve as dean until his current appointment.

The vice president earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in chemistry from Kyoto University in 1981, 1983, and 1986 respectively.
