President's Message to Alumni

President Kazuya Masu
President Kazuya Masu

Homecoming Day is an annual event held in appreciation of alumni and friends of Tokyo Tech. Continuing from 2023, this year's celebration will once again be a hybrid event, taking place both in person and online. I would like to extend a warm invitation to all — especially those unable to attend due to physical distance, including alumni residing abroad — to join us for our 12th Homecoming Day and learn about the latest developments at Tokyo Tech. There will be something for everyone, including a reunion for alumni and activities for family members and the local community.

As you may already know, the official decision has been made for Tokyo Tech and Tokyo Medical and Dental University to merge in October 2024, forming a new university named Institute of Science Tokyo. The integration aims to leverage the traditions and innovations of both institutions, creating a unique university unparalleled by any other.

Our strong network of alumni who generously contribute in various ways is one of the crucial pillars that upholds the Institute. As we embark on this journey to establish the new university, we will continuously reevaluate ourselves and how we want to pursue future education and research. We hope that, as members of Team Tokyo Tech, our friends and alumni will continue to support and collaborate with us in our endeavors.
