The International Education Forum on Environment and Energy Science

"The Second International Education Forum on Environment and Energy Science" organized by the Program for Leading Graduate Schools "Academy for Co-creative Education of Environment and Energy Science (ACEEES)" was held from December 13 to 17, 2013, in California, USA.

The ACEEES is focused on developing 2S x 3E human resources with leadership qualities through international Industry-Government-University cooperation and also develops the global leaders who can resolve the global issues and create the innovation with international views. The forum had an opportunity to further the above-mentioned goals with over two hundred participants from 37 universities, research institutions, a policymaking agency, and corporations of Japan and overseas etc. in 13 countries. The forum started off with opening remarks by Tokyo Tech President Yoshinao Mishima and was followed by 8 invited lectures by the leading researchers in the fields of energy, environment, social science, and global leader development. The forum was broken down into general sessions consist of 128 presentations by the students of Tokyo Institute of Technology and its international partnering universities from Asia, Europe, Canada, and USA. In this forum, 3 doctoral and master course students from different nationalities and environment and energy fields shared a room, and furthermore, set subjects related to environment and energy for each room, conducted joint investigation and discussion, and presented the results, in order to further enhance their international communication skills and global leadership.
