Courtesy Call by Dr. José Manuel Cabrera Sixto, Rector General of the University of Guanajuato, Mexico

President Yoshinao Mishima received a courtesy call from the Rector General of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. José Manuel Cabrera Sixto, on February 2, 2015. Executive Vice Presidents Kiyoshi Okada and Toshio Maruyama also attended the visit.

After expressing his gratitude for the visit, President Mishima gave Rector General Cabrera Sixto a brief overview of Tokyo Tech. He also outlined the ongoing education reforms and explained the Top Global University Project, a project funded by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to internationalize Japanese universities. Rector General Cabrera Sixto then provided a general overview of the University of Guanajuato and described the university's research and international cooperation programs. Both sides also exchanged views on setting up an inter-university partnership in the future.

The University of Guanajuato delegation also visited the Collaboration Center for Design and Manufacturing. Professor Akira Yamada of the Department of Physical Electronics led a guided tour of the Center and its exhibits.
