2nd and 3rd floors of Suzukakedai Library renewed

The renewal and improvement of facilities is a core part of the reforms being carried out at Tokyo Tech. At Suzukakedai Library, the 2nd and 3rd floors underwent improvements to provide a more relaxing, user-friendly atmosphere for all users. Tokyo Tech students and staff members are encouraged to come and experience the open active learning environment.

In July 2014, the Peripatos Collection was moved to the 1st floor from the Communication Area on the 2nd floor. Now this area includes the Materials for Liberal Arts and Materials for Language Study / Study Abroad collections, and is furnished with new sofas for added comfort.

The Seminar Presentation Rooms on the 3rd floor have been equipped with movable whiteboards and laser pointers, and the lighting arrangement has been adjusted to ensure more effective use of the projector.

Mobile whiteboards have also been added to the foyers on the 2nd and 3rd floors to encourage active group work and presentation practice.

Partitions, new lights, and power outlets for PCs have been installed at the reading tables on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

The AV player booth equipment and the library DVD collection have both been updated. The Materials for International Students corner also has new content, and is now next to the big-screen TV, which can be used to enjoy available audio-visual materials (such as DVDs, Blue-rays discs, and CDs). Four sets of headphones are available for simultaneous use.
