The ceremony to award the Hino Motors Scholarship was held in conjunction with the TAIST-Tokyo Tech (TAIST) Graduation Ceremony on August 31, 2015 at the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), located within the Thailand Science Park in Pathum Thani province, Thailand. Mr. Kontorn Thammakul was selected from the new students in the TAIST Automotive Engineering (AE) course to receive the scholarship for 2015.

TAIST is an international joint master's program established in 2007 through collaboration between NSTDA, Tokyo Tech, and four leading Thai universities — King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT)
, Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology of Thammasat University (SIIT/TU)
, and Kasetsart University (KU)

TAIST is strongly supported by industries and the alumni of Tokyo Tech. The Hino Motors Scholarship was established with donations for the TAIST program as part of the Hino Motors Ltd. 70th Anniversary project. Mr. Thammakul is the third scholarship recipient.
This year, Mr. Manop Nakbootr, senior managing director of Hino Motors Manufacturing (Thailand) Ltd., attended the ceremony to congratulate the graduates and present the scholarship to Mr. Thammakul. Dr. Toshio Maruyama, executive vice president of Tokyo Tech, and Dr. Omjai Saimek, vice president of NSTDA, expressed their gratitude to Mr. Nakbootr with a bouquet of flowers and a commemorative gift. The ceremony was concluded with a group photograph.
