Tokyo Tech's Nobutaka Suzuki and Mizuki Hatta from Shirayuri University won the International Latin Style rumba division at the 112th East Japan Collegiate DanceSport Championships on April 17, 2016.

My partner Hatta, our coach, and I had our eyes on the crown for some time, and I am full of emotions as we finally captured victory. In these championships Tokyo Tech was also fourth in the group category. We have made an excellent start as a team in 2016.
The Tokyo Tech Ballroom Dance Club will spare no effort as we head towards the next East Japan Collegiate DanceSport Championships. We appreciate your continued support for the club.

The Tokyo Tech Ballroom Dance Club was founded in 1946. The club currently consists of 21 Tokyo Tech students, 9 Shirayuri University students, and 8 Sugino Fashion College students.
Eight couples from the club participated in this year's East Japan Collegiate DanceSport Championships. Suzuki and Hatta also won second place in the cha-cha division. Tokyo Tech Ballroom Dance Club was placed fourth in the group category.
