Tokyo Tech features in international science journal Nature

Tokyo Tech and its ten Research Units feature in Spotlight on Technology Universities in Japan, an article in the latest issue of UK-based science journal Nature (volume 537, number 7618), published on August 31.

While drawing attention to Japan's need to increase diversity among its researchers, the article introduces the philosophy, history, achievements, and strengths of some of the country's leading technology research institutes. In addition to mentioning Tokyo Tech's recent education reforms, the article highlights the Institute's efforts to attract international talent and encourage cross-functional collaborations.

Detailed introductions to five technology-focused universities are also included. Tokyo Tech's portion includes a brief message from President Yoshinao Mishima regarding current efforts to innovate, and a summary of the Institute's ten newly established Research Units.
