The 2016 Tokyo Tech High School of Science and Technology graduation ceremony was held on March 10 at Tamachi Campus. This year, 184 students received their diplomas.
Principal Fumihito Miyamoto provided the graduates with words of encouragement. "Carve out your own future and contribute to the development of Japan and other nations by taking advantage of your communication skills and problem-solving capabilities in science and technology."
The Tokyo Tech community extends its congratulations and best wishes to all the graduates.
Tokyo Tech High School of Science and Technology, located on Tamachi Campus, is Japan's only national high school specializing in science and technology. Its close cooperative ties in education with Tokyo Tech ensure that students have opportunities to visit and learn from the Institute's professors.
Academic year 2016 was another active year for the school's students, both in academics and extracurricular activities in Japan and abroad. In May 2016, a student participated in the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2016 and won a silver medal. Also in May, Tokyo Tech High School of Science and Technology received the Commendation Award at the Singapore International Mathematics Challenge (SIMC) for good performance in the Challenge Presentation. This year, 62 high schools from 30 nations and regions participated in SIMC.
