Ookayama Campus held its annual disaster drill on November 13 to ensure all campus-goers are aware of campus procedures in case of an earthquake measuring a lower 6 on the seismic intensity scale.

As in previous years, the drill included a mass evacuation, headcount, and the establishment of on-campus emergency response headquarters led by President Kazuya Masu. Disaster response teams were formed to check for gas leaks and other potential hazards in various areas and buildings on campus, and emergency food was prepared and distributed. A fire was simulated in the Main Building, after which firefighters from the Denenchofu Fire Station abseiled down the wall to evacuate stranded civilians. After firefighters "extinguished" the Main Building, Masu addressed all campus-goers, thanking them for their participation and vigilance.

During optional training activities, campus-goers were given the opportunity to use fire extinguishers, experience smoke-filled rooms and earthquake simulators, and receive guidance on the use of automated external defibrillators from members of the Tokyo Fire Department.
