The 2022 entrance ceremony for new Tokyo Tech High School of Science and Technology students was held on Tamachi Campus on April 6. A total of 202 students joined the high school on this sunny spring day.

Accompanying the students at the ceremony were faculty and staff of Tokyo Tech High School of Science and Technology. Unfortunately, guardians, family members, and friends could not be present due to COVID-19-related regulations.
Principal Nakagawa giving his welcome speech
During his welcome speech, Principal Shigeki Nakagawa encouraged the school's newest students to acquire the ability to understand science, technology, and different ways of thinking, and to actively embrace the challenge of solving various problems. "I have great expectations for all of you, and I hope you can contribute to the development of both Japan and the world," Nakagawa said.
Tokyo Tech President Masu greeting new students
Tokyo Tech President Kazuya Masu also spoke at the ceremony. "I welcome you all as members of Team Tokyo Tech," the president stated. The Institute's Executive Vice President for Education Jun-ichi Imura and Executive Vice President for Finance and Secretary-General Masayuki Shibata were also present to greet warmly the newest members of the Tokyo Tech community.
After brief homeroom teacher introductions by Vice Principal Kasetsu Kamimura, the ceremony concluded with a student representative taking the traditional oath for first-year students.
The entire Tokyo Tech community sends its warm congratulations to all new students as they begin their exciting paths of knowledge and discovery.
