1.   Graduate Schools and Departments

Tokyo Institute of Technology has five Graduate Schools:

Graduate School of Science and Engineering,

Graduate School of Bioscience and Biotechnology,

Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering,

Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering.

Graduate School of Decision Science and Technology.

Each of these Graduate Schools has both Master (Pre-Doctoral) Program and Doctoral Program, and

is supported by constituent Departments.

International Graduate Course has following 7 Programs (in 2004 Program) depending on the

fields of research. These Programs are supported respectively by the Departments relating with

the field as indicated below.

Department of Biomolecular Engineering

Programs are arranged from above the five Graduate Schools for systematic education.

All the students in Graduate Schools are registered as those of Departments. Accordingly,

students of International Graduate Course officially belong to one of the above five Graduate

Schools.

Each student in Graduate School is assigned an Advisory professor (or professors) at the

entrance time. Department name to which the student belongs must be the same as the

Department of the Advisory professor (or one of Advisory professors). Advisory professor can

be changed later by petition depending on the student's circumstances.  In this case, a

complete request form approved by the both Advisory professors and the head of the

department must be submitted to the Student Affairs Section (Format 1).
