Outline of the workshop

It is not just Design Thinking! The methodology of "Future Foresight" spread in Europe and the United States as a way of thinking about future prediction and uncertainty management in the VUCA era. In Japan, "Future Foresight" is being used by many private companies, government and local governments as a methodology which may take different approach than "Design Thinking".

"Future Foresight" is important for the mindset which critically thinks about familiar views and relationships of existing things and gives a challenge of creative bias breaking and re-framing (redefining issues).

By using horizon scanning methods that capture the signs of uncertain change and forced thinking (brainstorming), we will proactively design the future in 10-15 years from now that nobody has yet conceived. In this class, you will experimentally learn how to use Future Foresight as a thinking tool for this purpose through 4 classes in Jan-Feb/2024.
