It is being increasingly recognized as a valuable approach in various areas such as social change, designing complex social systems, business and policy formulation, and environmentally sustainable ecosystems. By engaging diverse stakeholders, applying systems thinking to understand complexity, and using the design process to discover effective solutions to challenges.
