AEARU Young Researchers International Conference Call for Oral Presentations

The Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU) Young Researchers International Conference will be held under the theme of "Transmission, Preservation and Application of Culture in the East Asian Region." The conference targets young researchers (undergraduates are also welcome) from AEARU member universities who wish to make oral presentations of their latest research reports and studies on the peoples and cultures of East Asia.

The conference will be held in parallel with Tsukuba Global Science Week (TGSW) hosted by the University of Tsukuba at the Epochal Tsukuba International Congress Center in Tsukuba City. AEARU participants will have the opportunity to join certain TGSW 2015 workshop sessions during the AEARU conference.

* AEARU (Association of East Asian Research Universities) is comprised of 18 leading research-oriented universities in East Asia. Member universities include Tokyo Tech, the University of Tokyo, Osaka University, Tohoku University, the University of Tsukuba, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Taiwan University, Seoul National University, KAIST and others.

Eligibility
Young Researchers at Tokyo Tech (Participants must be under 40 years old. Undergraduate students are welcome.)
Application Method for the Oral Presentations
  • (1)The paper should be prepared according to the specified template (maximum two A4-size pages) and emailed directly by the author to global@un.tsukuba.ac.jp by July 31, 2015.
  • (2)Student participants are required to obtain permission for application from their supervisors and include the supervisor's name and email address in the application.
  • (3)When sending your submission by email, please indicate "AEARU-YRIC 2015" in the subject field. Please send a carbon-copy of the email to Tokyo Tech's International Cooperation Division kokuren.aearu@jim.titech.ac.jp as well.

Note: A poster presentation session will be held in case the number of applications exceeds the limit of oral presentations.

Notification of Acceptance
Notification of Acceptance will be sent to presenters by August 5, 2015.
Submission of camera-ready paper
Presenters will be requested to submit the camera-ready paper using the same template by August 20, 2015.
Incentives
Free accommodation and meals will be provided to all presenters during the conference period.
