IEEE Authorship Workshop （May 31 ,2017）

The Office of Research and Innovation will hold a workshop on publishing with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The workshop will be led by IEEE Director of Client Services Rachel Berrington and Tokyo Tech Professor Emeritus/IEEE Region 10 Director-Elect Akinori Nishihara.
Ms. Berrington will provide an introduction on the merits of publishing with the IEEE, manuscript submission and peer review, and key points when preparing your manuscript. Professor Nishihara will speak from his experience as an IEEE reviewer and associate editor, as well as discuss editorial committees, differences between submitting to the IEEE and other societies, and international co-authorship.
Profile of Rachel Berrington:
MA in Library and Information Science from University of Arizona; prior to joining the IEEE, served as corporate librarian at electric design automation corporation Mentor Graphics; as Director of IEEE Client Services, oversees global customer outreach, awareness and training programs for the IEEE Xplore digital library, and other IEEE subscription products
Profile of Akinori Nishihara:
Professor emeritus and specially appointed professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology; research interests in signal processing and educational technology; has published more than 300 technical papers in refereed international journals and conferences; numerous awards, including IEEE Life Fellow, IEICE Fellow, and Commendation for Science and Technology by MEXT in 2016; IEEE Region 10 Director-Elect for 2017-18
