Vehicle for Hire for People Entering Japan

Due to the current situation with the novel coronavirus, people entering Japan even without symptoms of illness are asked to stay at a place designated by the Chief of the Quarantine Station, such as their homes, for 14 days starting from the day after arrival. In addition, they are asked NOT to use public transportation for any purpose, including transport from airports, etc.

Permitted means of transportation include private and rented vehicles, as well as suitable vehicles for hire. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has recently published a list of the companies and travel agencies that provide vehicles for hire and that take appropriate measures to protect drivers and customers from the coronavirus.
