Challenges in the VUCA age: Changing the society using basic technologies of AI

Guest Speakers: Mr. K. Kisamori

PhD, Data Mining Technology Group, Data Science Lab., NEC Corp.

How do you imagine yourself in five years from now? To be honest, what I had imagined myself doing in the future 5 years ago when I was a student and what I am actually doing right now are totally different (in a good way). I want to convey the following points from my experiences of post-doctoral studies, research at an international research institute and a major firm, launch of a business venture, and commercialization of a new AI technology.

  • Global AI trends and where Japan stand in AI technology
  • Strengths of our new AI technology
  • Difficulties of connecting basic technology
  • Launch of a business venture and challenges of fast commercialization

In the end, I would like to state my opinion and have discussions with students on what will be demanded in this world that has changed so much in the last 6 months, and in this age of instability and uncertainty called the "VUCA" age.
