On Tuesday, January 6, 2015, Tokyo Tech will host a researcher-organized symposium on robotics entitled “Towards the Next Stages of Robotics” . Professionals from seven institutes worldwide will gather to talk about their latest research in the field of robotics. The symposium is open to all.
The past several decades have brought forth significant advances in robotics. Linkage and metallic frame-based robotics has essentially become its own major discipline in engineering.
We believe that academia should aim for further innovation in robotics as well as target practical applications for conventional robotics. Through this symposium, we seek to address the challenges for robotics in the coming decades, particularly focusing on the roles of interdisciplinary fields such as materials science and biology. Please join us in discussing the next stages of robotics.
