The exciting Tokyo Tech Festival is a two-day event that attracts upwards of 50,000 local residents, Tokyo Tech students, and prospective applicants to the Ookayama Campus every year.
A wide variety of interesting and educational exhibits and presentations will be featured in classrooms, and food tents will be set up on campus to offer delicious refreshments. Live music, stand-up comedy and many other fun events will take place on the outdoor stage. Lab Walk-ins are a great way for visitors to experience Tokyo Tech’s state-of-the-art science and technology.

The theme of the festival 2018 chosen by popular vote is "Frontier."
Frontier is all about state-of-the-art technology and leading-edge research. Tokyo Tech is deeply involved in a wide range of frontier research, and this theme is a great way to introduce the public to the exciting potential of the future and highlight Tokyo Tech’s role in bringing this potential to life.
Tokyo Tech Festival 2018 features a wide variety of interesting and exciting events.
Tokyo Tech brings leading-edge animation to the Ookayama Campus with a panel discussion on the cutting-edge technology employed in the making of globally popular Sword Art Online (SAO). Panelists include a Tokyo Tech professor, writer Reki Kawahara, animation director Tomohiko Ito, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, who voiced Kirito, and Rina Hidaka, who voiced Silica.
TOP OF MUSCLE 2018 is a series of power events that showcase Tokyo Tech’s strongest students. It is scheduled to be held at the outdoor stage on Sunday, October 7, the second day of the festival.

Lab Walk-ins are a great opportunity for students interested in Tokyo Tech to see our research and get a feel for the atmosphere of laboratories. Walk-ins are also a popular way for local residents to see the exciting projects that researchers at Tokyo Tech are working on.
Tokyo Tech faculty members will give the following presentations in 2018 to introduce the Institute’s cutting-edge research to the public.
