The Cutting Edge of Robot Science, What is Soft Robotics?

Soft robots developed under the MEXT Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas "Science of Soft Robots" ( Project Manager: Prof. Koichi Suzumori, Tokyo Tech.) will gather at Miraikan. In addition to exhibits of actual and visual displays of cutting-edge soft robots, there will also be hands-on corners and "soft classrooms" by distinctive robot researchers.
From Tokyo Tech, a jellyfish robot from the Koichi Suzumori Laboratory, and hummingbird, penguin robots from the Hiroto Tanaka Laboratory and a defecation simulator from the Shingo Maeda Laboratory and the Toshinori Fujie Laboratory will be exhibited. Prof. Suzumori will give a mini-lecture on "iikagen robots."
Admission is free. Enjoy a variety of soft robots.
