Every fall, Tokyo Tech Festival is held at the Ookayama Campus. Around 50,000 people including Tokyo Tech students, high school students, and prospective students as well as local residents will visit the two-day Tokyo Tech Festival, which marks the most exciting time of year at Tokyo Tech.
Tokyo Tech Festival 2023 will feature a wide variety of events for visitors to enjoy, from academic projects that are typical of Tokyo Tech to events that are typical of a school festival. The outdoor stage will be set up close to the main building and is where the main programs of the festival will take place. This outdoor stage has realistic and powerful sound quality, and the sloped seating allows the stage to be viewed clearly even from the back. For the first time, an LED display will be installed at the back of the stage, which will make performances even more exciting.
Since there are no restrictions on admission this year, anyone can experience Tokyo Tech Festival 2023. Please feel free to come and visit us at this festival, where the quality has been further enhanced.

The theme of the festival is "Chronicle".
Tokyo Tech is in the midst of major reforms including integrating with the Tokyo Medical and Dental University, and the implementation of new admission methods, or female students quotas. This makes it a good time to look back at stories of Tokyo Tech and the festival from the past. We hope that this year’s festival will become a new page in the chronicle of Tokyo Tech. It is also our desire for this festival to be a new memory for visitors. This year’s theme encompasses such hopes.
A number of events are planned during the two days of Tokyo Tech Festival 2023. Here are some of the main events selected by Festival Committee members.

Is there life in the universe outside Earth? Scientists around the world are working diligently to answer that question. It is known based on the geography of Mars that water once flowed there, and sand from the planet will be brought back to Earth in the near future. Liquid oceans also exist in the mantles of Jupiter’s and Saturn’s satellites, which could be home to microorganisms. As we are on the precipice of discovering extraterrestrial life, Professor Genda will explain the current situation and what to expect in the near future.

Do you know about "National Route 16"? It is a loop road that stretches for some 326 km, passing through 27 towns and villages in Kanagawa, Tokyo, Saitama, and Chiba. It may give the impression of a suburban area, but it has played an important role in various ways. People have lived along it since the Paleolithic period. It saw the birth of the Kanto samurai group and establishment of the Kamakura shogunate. It was central to Japan’s prosperity and strong military, was a raw silk road that helped promote industry, and played a major role in postwar industrialization and population growth while also being a creative path related to the flourishing of Japan’s show business and music industry. The Tokyo Tech Suzukakedai Campus also lies along National Route 16. Professor Yanase will explain some of the mysteries and wonders of this road.

Tokyo Tech Research Fellow Atsushi Yoshikawa, School of Computing
Sunday, October 29, 11:00 a.m. - 0:30 p.m.
Height and weight can be measured. Our bodies can be measured accurately. We can also measure sugar for cooking. But what about ability? Consider the fact that your ability is measured using tests. But since various perspectives are used to measure different abilities, not just while in school but also after becoming an adult, it would be good to reconsider this point.
