Ban of New Entry to Japan

To: International Students Who Wish to Enter Japan for the First Time

On Monday, November 8, new entry to Japan for international students with a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) issued between January 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021 was resumed under certain conditions. However, due to the worldwide spread of the new coronavirus variant Omicron, entry has been suspended again beginning November 30.

Initially, the suspension of entry was supposed to last until December 31, 2021, but unfortunately, as a measure against the Omicron variant, the ban will remain in place for the time being. As such, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) continues to not accept or screen any new applications, nor issue "Screening Certificates (審査済証)."

We will inform you as soon as entry of international students resumes. Please note that all communication from the Institute will be sent to your Tokyo Tech email address (@m.titech.ac.jp). We appreciate your patience and understanding.

* For inquiries, please include your student ID number, name, and COE issue date in the email.
