Are you interested in thinking about “Japan & Technology” from the perspectives of Japanese science and technology journalism? If so, this talk event is for you.
The talk will start with an initial history of engineering in Japan, and the speaker will talk about the drastic development during the late 20th century into high growth phase producing numerous technologies which had big presences. Its situation had changed now, searching for a better way currently.
How and what kind of technologies should be ideal for the development of the sustainable society even without flourished natural resources under the views and ethical senses in Japanese society? He will give us a lot of interesting points to think about it.
The speaker, Junichi Taki at Nikkei newspaper company, is one of the leading journalists in the Japanese field of science and technology news reporting. Graduated from Waseda University, Department of Politics and Economics, he started his career as Writer of Business News Department at Nikkei, then went to the United States as a Senior Staff Writer of its Washington D.S. Bureau, and became Senior Staff Writer of science and technology news department, editor of science and technology news department, editorial and senior writer and senior staff writer.
