The Asian Students Collaboration Encouragement Program (ASCENT) is a short-term exchange program organized mainly by students of SAGE. The program aims to promote international exchanges and construct a sustainable network of Asian students in the science and engineering fields. Each ASCENT has one theme which focuses on a serious contemporary issue in Asia. According to the theme, participants are offered company visits, laboratory tours at Tokyo Tech, and special lectures and speeches to learn about the challenges Asian countries are facing, and Japanese technologies which could be applied to solve these challenges.

The 6th ASCENT was held in March 2015. The theme this year was the "Future Image of Energy." The 19 participants from Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines discussed their views on the future of energy in Asia.

SAGE co-hosted a briefing session on studying in graduate courses at overseas universities with the Japanese Graduate Student Association in the US (JGSAU) on July 11, 2015.

The briefing session included a panel discussion involving students who had experienced graduate courses overseas. A total of 55 people including Tokyo Tech students participated in this event, deepening their understanding of graduate courses outside Japan.

The 10th & 11th Tokyo Orienteering

Tokyo Orienteering

Tokyo Orienteering

SAGE hosts Tokyo Orienteering twice each year in spring and fall to help new students from overseas better navigate Tokyo. Participants are divided into groups of 4 or 5 and sent on "missions" to locate various places and items at or near Tokyo Metro stations. Each group gets points by solving missions. The team with the most points at the end of the day is the winner. Participants can use only English throughout the event. Tokyo Orienteering is gaining popularity each year.

In 2015, SAGE hosted this event in April and October. A total of 23 students joined the spring orienteering, while 52 people joined the fall event. The photo contests accompanying the orienteering events produced some unique shots, and all participants looked very satisfied.
