As the incumbent president's term of office will end on March 31, 2018, the Institute has decided to begin the selection process for its next president. At the Tokyo Institute of Technology President Nomination Committee Meeting ("Meeting") held on June 26, 2017, detailed information on requisite qualifications, the presidential term, and selection procedures were decided as follows. This information has been announced publicly.
Candidates for the next presidency must demonstrate high standards of integrity and academic intelligence as well as display professional competence in managing the Institute's education and research activities in an appropriate and effective manner. Additionally, candidates are required to meet the standards described in "Qualities Required of the President of Tokyo Institute of Technology" (see link below for further details), which were decided at the Meeting.
The Institute invites nominations and applications for the four-year presidential term starting April 1, 2018 (with possible reappointment for another two years following the first four-year term). Nominations and applications must be received between Monday, July 3, 2017 and Friday, July 21, 2017 in order to be considered.
