Tokyo Tech has signed a university-wide cooperation agreement with National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech).

President Yoshinao Mishima, Executive Vice Presidents Toshio Maruyama and Masayuki Shibata, and faculty members welcomed President Ching-Jong Liao and his Taiwan Tech delegation to Tokyo Tech for the March 7, 2018 memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony. Representatives of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Representative Office in Japan also attended.

The MOU builds upon collaboration following the 2015 conclusion of a school-level agreement between Tokyo Tech's Graduate School of Science and Engineering* and Taiwan Tech's College of Engineering and College of Electric Engineering and Computer Science. In 2016, Tokyo Tech's three engineering Schools established an overseas office at Taiwan Tech to support research collaboration and student exchanges in the engineering fields. Student exchanges have increased in recent years through dispatches of Tokyo Tech engineering students to Taiwan Tech's Summer School.
