Tokyo Tech's Center of Innovation (COI) officially changed its research topic and the name of its site and office on April 1, 2018 with the approval of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
New COI Site: Research Center for the Earth Inclusive Sensing Empathizing with Silent Voices (EISESiV)
New COI Office: Research Institute for the Earth Inclusive Sensing
Aiming to realize a more sustainable future through "empathy for silent voices" and coexistence with the natural world, the new site plans to combine sensing technologies it has already developed with newly incorporated device technologies to advance research and development in applicable "earth inclusive sensing."
The COI program is operated by JST in line with the Center of Innovation Science and Technology-based Radical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (COI STREAM) vision. In this program, JST forms and supports industry-academia collaborative teams that work to tackle fundamental, multi- and interdisciplinary R&D challenges which carry both significant risks and great potential impact in society.

Listening to the silent voices of nature, the COI works to create a cycle that addresses problems encountered by people, society, and the environment through low-environmental-load and eco-friendly approaches. |
