Highlighting the advantages of a Tokyo Tech education

Tokyo Tech students enjoy exposure to diverse, world-leading research and close interaction with top researchers. With cutting-edge research facilities, a stimulating learning environment in one of the world's best student cities,1 and a comprehensive range of academic programs conducted in English, the Institute now draws more than 1,700 international students2 from various countries and regions.

To support students from abroad, who comprise about 16 percent of total enrollment, Tokyo Tech provides

  • daily-life and academic support for new international students through a tutor system
  • a range of accommodation options, including new dormitories and dormitories reserved specifically for international students
  • campus announcements and community event notices in English
  • information about scholarships available to international students
  • career advising and support

and more.

In line with the Institute's philosophy of providing education that spans the globe, Tokyo Tech offers more than 50 inbound and outbound exchange programs through its partnerships with over 100 universities and research institutions around the globe. Students also have opportunities to participate in domestic and overseas internships and international research collaborations.
