Six more Tokyo Tech High School of Science and Technology students, accompanied by two teachers, visited De La Salle University (DLSU) in the Philippines on an international study tour from July 29 to August 3, 2018.

Tokyo Tech's affiliated high school has been offering its students this unique opportunity for the past seven years under the Super Global High School Program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Approximately two months after each visit, students in Japan return the favor by hosting De La Salle University Integrated School students in Tokyo.

This year's tour included a stop at the Tokyo Tech Philippines Office on DLSU's Manila Campus. Teachers and six local high school students joined the group from Japan for a talk about the history of the exchange program and the office itself. After that, the group visited the Center for Engineering and Sustainable Development Research (CESDR) at DLSU, and Intramuros, the historic center and oldest district of Manila, among other places of interest in the city.

Tokyo Tech High School of Science and Technology students said they could feel the lively atmosphere and history of the DLSU campus, and were impressed by the level of engagement of its students. They also noted the convenient location of the campus in the heart of the city. Overall, the study tour undoubtedly broadened the perspectives of all those involved.
