Tokyo Tech Festival 2020, originally scheduled for October 10 and 11, 2020, has been canceled due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The decision to suspend this year's festival was made in the interest of health and safety among festivalgoers and the members of the organizations involved after discussions between the Institute's members and the Tokyo Tech Festival committee, the student body in charge of the event.
For some time, the organizers considered the possibility of hosting the festival in an online environment. However, due to time constraints and the need for student body members to visit campuses for preparations, this option was also decided against.
Tokyo Tech Festival 2019 was also called off due to a powerful typhoon that swept across Japan in October of last year. While the cancellation of the festival for two consecutive years is unfortunate, the Institute will continue to prioritize the wellbeing of its members and the broader community.
