Tokyo Tech President Kazuya Masu

I am both excited and honored to begin my second term as president of Tokyo Tech on April 1, 2022.

It is clear that the new knowledge and positive impact created by the Institute stem from the people of our community — our dedicated students, faculty, and staff, and the knowledgeable collaborators, partners, and supporters who share our vision. As an educational institution, Tokyo Tech remains devoted to providing outstanding, carefully tailored learning opportunities and student support which allow learners from across the world to mature into leading science and technology professionals with broad perspectives. As a pioneering research institution, Tokyo Tech continues to encourage increased and deeper collaborations with academic and corporate partners. I am confident that these lasting commitments to unite diverse individuals with shared goals will promote the growth of the Institute as a leading science and technology university during my second term, and for many years to come.

Tokyo Tech's vision for its future growth and activities to propel a sustainable global society are outlined in our Cross-Campus Innovation Ecosystem concept. This plan envisions unique characteristics for the Institute’s three campuses while facilitating organic cross-campus collaboration and progressive industry-academia-government networks that give birth to new knowledge and innovations, develop future leaders, and spearhead value creation. Team Tokyo Tech is adjusting its environment strategically so that knowledge, financial resources, and people can flow smoothly and effectively within this ecosystem.

I am determined to make the next two years a period of growth not only for the students, faculty, and staff of Tokyo Tech, but also for our trusted partners in academia, industry, government, and the local community. Let us all continue to work together towards a better, brighter future.
