Have you heard of Rakugo? This event will show you English Rakugo and Japanese Performance.

Let’s listen to Rakugo in English and experience Japanese culture!

*Participation on the day of the event is also possible.

*Off-campus participants are also welcome.

Details of this event

Time and Date: 15 : 30 to 17 : 30, Wednesday, December 6, 2023

Place: Event area on B2 floor, Taki Plaza

Cooperation: English Rakugo Association

In this event, after a brief explanation of Rakugo by the lecturer, participants will listen to several kinds of Rakugo in English. Between the Rakugo performances, there will be some "iromono" (forms of entertainment different from the main acts such as music and authentic street performances), which will make you feel as if you are actually in a “Yose” (a Japanese-style theatre).

For international students who have never tried rakugo before, this event will be a great opportunity to learn about traditional Japanese culture, and for Japanese students, it will be a valuable chance to experience rakugo from a different point of view!

International students who are interested in the traditional Japanese culture of Rakugo, as well as Japanese students who would like to enjoy Rakugo from a different perspective, are welcome to join us!
