A large landslide caused by heavy rain in the Izusan neighborhood of Atami City in Shizuoka Prefecture on July 3, 2021 has resulted in severe damage and loss of lives in the region. Tokyo Institute of Technology expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and heartfelt sympathies to all those who have been affected.
As part of the effort to support Atami City in its recovery, the Institute and the Tokyo Tech Alumni Association have jointly set up a relief fund and are asking members of the Institute community to make donations.
All donations will be sent to Atami City and will go towards the reconstruction of the disaster-hit area. Donations will be accepted between July 16 and October 31, 2021.
