This is an announcement of the subject ToTAL/OPEN program* "System x Design Thinking 1-day Workshop" that is a part of "Fundamental Group Work for Leadership I/II (S)" and "Master's/Doctoral Essential Group Work for Leadership (S)" of ToTAL course.

The day will come when insect food sales promotion will become commonplace in urban supermarkets. Insects such as locusts and bee cubs are comparable to river fish in the mountainous areas of Japan, including Nagano Prefecture. It has been popular since ancient times as a valuable protein source. Insects are a traditional food that humans have eaten for a long time, and at the same time, they are health foods rich in protein, and are being reviewed as foods that have better feed efficiency and less environment impact than conventional livestock. Currently, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is focusing on insect foods that solve the problems of the global food crisis that are expected to occur in the future. In a few years, the day will surely come when eating insects will become the norm. Let's think about such a future "insect food supermarket" with system x design thinking!

What is System x Design Thinking?
Design Thinking that solves human-centered problems is "highly uncertain" "the problem is complicated and there is no data". It's a mindset that uses a creative approach to solve problems that can no longer be solved by traditional methods. Systems thinking does not focus solely on the "events" and "phenomena" of the visible world, but ethically/analyzes overall structure, and interdependence of the invisible world that causes it. It is a mindset that approaches and captures the movement. System x Design Thinking is an innovative approach that combines these conflicting thoughts.
