  • Tokyo Tech Festival 2019 – October 12 and 13, 2019 – has been cancelled due to Super Typhoon 19 (Hagibis). (Updated on October 11)
  • Super Typhoon 19 (Hagibis) is heading northward en route to Japan. The Japan Meteorological Agency has announced that it is expected to hit Honshu between October 12 and 13.
    The entire festival or some of the scheduled events may be canceled depending on the severity of the weather conditions. Up-to-date information about the festival will be posted on the Tokyo Tech Festival 2019 site (Japanese)(External site) as it becomes available. (Updated on October 10)

Tokyo Tech Festival 2019

The exciting Tokyo Tech Festival is a two-day event that attracts upwards of 50,000 local residents, Tokyo Tech students, and prospective applicants to the Ookayama Campus every year.

A wide variety of interesting and educational exhibits and presentations will be featured in classrooms, and food tents will be set up on campus to offer delicious refreshments. Live music, stand-up comedy and many other fun events will take place on the outdoor stage. Lab Walk-ins are a great way for visitors to experience Tokyo Tech's state-of-the-art science and technology.

The theme of the festival 2019 is "Hello World!!"

Tokyo Tech promotes technical development and research for use at the global level through world-class education. The theme of Tokyo Tech Festival 2019 – Hello World!! is the advancement of globalization to benefit all. Hello World is the name of the well-known sample program that introduces the basic syntax of computer language, and this festival introduces Tokyo Tech research that seeks to unlock the world's unlimited potential. Tokyo Tech invites the community to come for a firsthand look at the progress this world-class university is making toward bringing the future into our everyday lives.
