ToTAL/OPEN Program

This is an announcement of the subject ToTAL/OPEN program^* "Future Foresight Workshop (5 days)" that is a part of "Recognition of Social Issues Workshop II" of ToTAL course.

"Future Foresight" has been gathering a lot of attention as the promising methodology for generating "INNOVATIONS" together with "Design Thinking". "Future Foresight" is a methodology by putting priority on "BACKCAST" type of approach by considering paths and/or scenario after considering several future possibilities, which may be different from "FORECAST". During workshop, you will design future of 10-15 years later by putting priority on future insights with "SCANNING" and "FORCED IDEA GENERATIONS" method.
The theme of this year is Future of "learning". Currently, COVID-19 has made an unexpected impact on our lives. Additionally, in the future, new technologies such as AI and Robot may steal our current jobs or obsolete our knowledge which we think is necessary. In order to develop human resources who can live in such unexpected crisis and drastic social changes or acquire the ability to live in such a situation, it is necessary to have new idea about "learning" beyond conventional learning based on the school education. Through the workshop, participants will discuss the future of "learning" as your own future affairs. Why/When/Where/What/From whom/With whom/How will you be learning in 10-15 years?

ToTAL/OPEN Program

"ToTAL/OPEN Programs" are programs which are originally designed for ToTAL students that are also open to non-ToTAL students. Non-ToTAL students can: (1) apply to these courses (credits and GA will be granted), or (2) join each program on ad-hoc basis (credits will be not granted).

Students	Participants must join all 5 days of workshops. Any of students (OPEN students), including Tokyo Tech students and non-Tokyo Tech students, can apply to this workshop. Since this workshop will be held as a part of ToTAL regular course, ToTAL students will have the first priority, and seats left will be available for OPEN students. In case of oversubscription, selection will be made.
