The Tokyo Tech International Student Association (TISA) held its first Tennis Festival on May 1, 2016. In collaboration with the Tokyo Tech, SEVEN, and Sominity tennis clubs, which mainly consist of Japanese undergraduate students, the aim was to promote cross-cultural interaction between Japanese and international students. Based on feedback from the participants, the event was a successful one.

Chief of TISA Japanese Exchange Committee
Many international students find it very difficult to join club activities due to the culture or language barrier. This event was organized to build a bridge between international students and Japanese students through the medium of tennis. We have planned many upcoming events with other clubs such as the Sepak Takraw and Aikido Clubs to continue promoting cross-cultural relationships.

I am a member of the Tokyo Tech tennis club. The Tennis Festival was a wonderful event for me, as it was a rare opportunity to interact not only with Japanese students but also with international students through tennis. I appreciate the TISA members for planning this event and the tennis club for lending out its tennis courts.
This was my first time to join a TISA activity. It was a really nice event. It provided a good chance for me to make new international friends and I also very much enjoyed playing tennis. I would like to join TISA activities in the future. Thank you!
This activity was very fun as I got to know more foreign and Japanese friends who also have an interest in tennis. I would like to attend this kind of activity again in the future.
The next event organized by the Japanese Exchange Committee of TISA will be a sepak takraw tournament on June 19, 2016.
