【Suspension of in-person services for students】

Tokyo Tech has strongly requested students not to come to campus to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus and protect the wellbeing of the entire Tokyo Tech community. Accordingly, we will temporarily suspend in-person services for students as follows.

 We will do our best to avoid inconvenience by providing almost all services by postal mail, email, telephone, etc. instead.

Period: From Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 17
In-person services temporarily unavailable: Student Division on Ookayama and Suzukakedai Campuses, Student Support Division on Ookayama and Suzukakedai Campuses, International Student Exchange Division, Admissions Division

You can reach us by telephone between 8:30 and 17:15.

You can reach the Admissions Division by telephone between 9:00 and 17:15 excluding lunch time (between 12:15 and 13:15).

The following matters will be specially handled by the Student Division over the counter between 10:00 and 15:00 in principle. If you cannot come to Tokyo Tech during these hours due to special circumstances (e.g., you are a working adult and must work during these hours) please contact us.

  • Receiving diplomas

  • Receiving certificates for which applications have already been submitted
  • Receiving reissued student ID cards

(Reference) Student ID cards for new students:
Bachelor’s students and transfer student: Cards will be sent to students on and after Monday, April 13.

Graduate programs:
Newly enrolled graduate students will receive their student ID card on or after April 20 from their academic supervisor at their laboratory. For students unable to come to campus, ID information will be provided at an online meeting or by other means. This will allow students to open a Tokyo Tech email account using their ID information.

Certificates
Automated certificate issuance machines will operate as usual.

Ookayama Campus: Weekdays (excluding holidays) from 9:00 to 21:00
Suzukakedai Campus: Weekdays (excluding holidays) from 8:30 to 17:30

While in-person services are suspended, staff members in charge of student-related matters will continue to provide services by email, telephone, postal mail, etc. instead. They will also have to deal with many additional tasks such as preparing classes that have been rescheduled due to the novel coronavirus situation. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated.
